Pastor Phil Carroll
Phil Carroll has been the Pastor of SEBC since November of 2013. He received his MDiv from Liberty University in 1989 and has served in pastorates in Ohio, Virginia, Georgia, and Kansas. Phil and his wife Lesa have been married since 1982 and have eight daughters and a growing number of grandchildren. Growing up in a Christian home with a father who was also a pastor, Phil came to know the Lord at a young age. Among other things, he enjoys music, sports, and “building or fixing stuff.”
Elders
Terry Robson and his wife, Kristin, live in rural Abbyville and have attended Sterling Evangelical Bible Church since 1998. They have four children: Jordan and Luc are currently enlisted in the United States Army, Maryn attends Tabor College, and Tucker is enrolled in the Sterling public schools, where Terry is employed as technology coordinator, a position he has held since 1997. During their tenure at SEBC, Terry has served as an elder, council member and Sunday School teacher. The Robson family has also been involved in various aspects of music ministry.
Mark Splitter and his wife, Ruth, came to Sterling in 1982 from Colorado and attended SEBC while Mark attended Sterling College. After graduating from SC in 1986 and receiving a teaching certificate in 1988, he spent the next 11 years teaching social studies and coaching in public schools around Kansas. Mark and Ruth returned to Sterling with their four children Daniel, Rachel, Rebekah, and Hannah in 1999 to coach football at Sterling College and returned to SEBC in 2002. Mark now works for Proffitt Farms, enjoys various outdoor activities, and officiates basketball in the winter. One of his favorite Bible passages is Romans Chapter 5.
