About UsWe exist as a church to magnify the glory of God the Father through the person and work of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. It is our desire to treasure all that God is, to love all as he loves, to pray for all his purposes, to meditate on all his Word, and to be sustained by all his grace through faith.
Our building is located 11 miles south/southwest of Sterling at 3017 N Sterling Rd, Sterling, KS 67579. |
Our Mission |
As a fellowship of believers we covenant together by the grace of God to give Him the place of leadership among us, submitting to his written Word—the Bible—in every matter, to engage in intentional, practical, victorious living, endeavoring to bring the Lord Jesus Christ to sinners, and in the conduct of our homes, our business, and our pleasure, to strictly maintain a biblical standard.
As members of this fellowship, we covenant together to live as strangers and pilgrims here, knowing that our true home is in Heaven. To this end, we will speak the truth in love, showing kindness to one another, forgiving each other, as God forgave us in Christ. We will submit ourselves to those who have authority over us and we will cheerfully give of our time and possessions as God has prospered us. |
Our Sunday Worship Services
|
Worship can be defined as "a valuing or a treasuring of God above all things.” While as born-again believers we should live daily lives of worship, there is a particular and special sense in which believers worship when they join together to intentionally do so. Jesus gave this instruction: But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:23-24).
To worship God in spirit and truth is to value or treasure Him based on a right understanding of His nature and a right valuing of His worth. Such a right understanding and right valuing is only possible with a right understanding of God's written revelation of Himself, His written Word, the Bible. Because of that, our worship services will be Bible-focused and Gospel-centered. We will read Scripture at multiple times and will attempt to sing songs that are scriptural in their content and emphasis. Our music is blended - a mix of old and new, hymns and contemporary - with an emphasis on the lyrics. Our Praise Team consists of multiple singers accompanied by a combination of keyboard, piano, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and cajon/djembe. The preaching is expository in nature - a comprehensive explanation of the meaning and intention of the biblical text, with commentary to make the text clear and understandable. Typically our pastor will be preaching through a book of the Bible. While we welcome and encourage families to worship together, a staffed nursery is available for children up to 36 months old. A quiet room with a view of the auditorium is also available for mothers with infants. If you have any questions please |
